Colorado on My Mind
First of all I'd like to thank Andreas, my high school buddy, for letting me join the group. I have to mention, however, that my pictures are not vacation related in particular. But since we’re here to share our experience and celebrate the beauty of German cars and nature, I’d like to contribute a few pictures that I’ve captured in and around Denver / Colorado.
But let me share something else first. My admiration for the glorious state of Colorado, a place where we have lived for more than 12 years. A place where the sun literally shines more than 300 days a year, where you can play golf in the winter and snowboard in the summer.
If I had to pick one word to describe Colorado, it would be “thegreatoutdoorsandholidaydestinationanytime”.
With tons of available outdoor activities from skiing down the great Back Bowl of Vail, white water rafting in Arkansas River to camping in Steamboat Springs, we have been very fortunate to be able to enjoy the genuine charms of Colorado nature throughout the year. One of my favorite times is the day after a snowstorm, because this is the time when the sun comes out into a breathtakingly clear sky and melts all the snow on the roads. This is the time when the air is so clean and crisp, it brings out the amazing colors of the earth, aspen trees, red rocks, evergreens and blue sky.
Time to step out of the house, take a deep refreshing breath, put on my sunglasses and cruise around with the sunroof open. Time to enjoy the cool fresh air as well as the warmth of sunshine on my neck, symphonized by an AMG tuned supercharged V6 engine under the hood…before the wife calls and asks me to come home.
I have created an album in the Photos section and all comments are welcome. These photographs were taken using different cameras ranging from Olympus point & shoot, Canon EOS 10D, 20D, Nikon D50 to Canon EOS 5D. Hopefully this summer I’ll be able to spend more time practicing because having the chance to learn is one of the greatest privileges of life.
